Ways For Teen To Make Money
By Leeanne Utiger There are many ways for teens to make money. It is trying to 'sell' these ways to the teens that makes the difference. However, I'm sure if the teens really want to make themselves some extra pocket money for whatever it is they need, or want, they will be acceptable to your ideas on how they can in fact make money.
You can suggest to the teens involved, an easy, and ok admittedly physical way of making extra money, which however is quite simple, and nothing out of the ordinary, is to do lawn-mowing. Your teen can mow your own lawns, and put the word around that he/she is willing to do the same for others in the neighbourhood, or even for extended family members. In addition to making extra money, your teen will be doing some form of exercise, therefore doing something good for his/her body.
Other suggestions for teens on how to make money can include other varying things. Such as: cleaning cars, both inside and out. Once again, this simple task can be offered to a widespread network of people who would be prepared to pay the teen for their time and effort put into the work they have offered and under-taken to do.
Teens who want to make money, can also approach stores or businesses, such as take-a-way, space invader arcades, and self-promote themselves, ask for a part-time job that they can under-take after school hours have finished, and possibly extend that to weekend work. In fact, a teen who is very serious about making money, can and should approach any given store for any given position that may be open to them. You should encourage teens who want to make extra money to create a resume about themselves, and go door-knocking on the businesses in their local area. Not all part-time positions are always advertised. Some employer just may take them on at the drop of a hat.
Another way for teens to make money, is to contact restaurant managers, make the offer to work for them doing dishes. Ok, it may not be an elegant position, but at the end of the day, it is a position and it will give them extra money in their pocket to do with as they choose. There are other ways within the restaurant field to make it possible for teens to make money. They can try their hand at waiting tables, serving guests.
Gardening also comes to mind. There are many elderly residents all over the world, who can no longer tend to their garden as much as they would like. Im sure they would be more than pleased to have a sincere hardworking teen keeping their garden up to scratch for them, and would be more than willing to give them some extra money in return.
Other ways for a teen to make money, is to pay a visit to the local newspaper office and offer to become a 'paperboy'. This is a person who routinely delivers papers to residences mailboxes or driveways. There are also often companies who are looking for teenagers to deliver fliers and pamphlets to homes around their area.
Suggest to the teen wanting to make extra money, to also keep an eye on all job advertisements. Many are advertised, strictly asking for teens to fill the vacant position.
Hairdressing salons are always on the look-out for teens to help in their salons. Sweeping the floors to washing the clients hair. This sort of teen job, can and often does in fact lead to permanent full time apprenticeships and roles as a hairdresser further down the track of things, if the teen so chose to follow it up.
Many positions a teenager will encounter can lead to a career path - so advice on ways for teens to make money can in fact set them up for a future.
