Instructions on how to tie a tie

Every man should know instructions on how to tie a tie, regardless of whether they subscribe to putting a silk noose around their necks. Having instructions on how to tie a tie is crucial because when those occasions do arise that you should wear a tie, there is nothing in a suit which shows your personality more than your tie. So tying a tie well shows not only you're a man with refinement, it also has an impression on whomever it is you wish to impress. There are 3 specific instructions to tie a tie, and I will give you the instructions on how to tie these knots. Practice these before the occasion arises that you need a tie and you will never have the trouble or embarrassment of asking your wife/mother/neighbor to tie your tie. Yes, it is embarrassing not knowing instructions on how to tie a tie.
If you follow these instructions you will be able to give others instructions on how to tie thier ties.

The most basic instruction is the four in hand knot.
This is the standard tie that most men can perform. The is the easiest to learn how to tie. It is neither the most symmetrical nor the fattest knot. This knot can be tied with almost any style of tie.
1. Begin fully buttoning your collar and folding it upwards. Wrap the tie around your neck with the fattest end (A) hanging approximately 30cm below the thinner (B).
2. Wrap A around B once and slide it through the loop.
3. Tuck A down through the knot.
4. Pull B to tighten the knot.
5. Whilst holding B use your other hand to slide the knot up to your neck.
Congratulations, if you have followed instructions you have now tied your four in hand knot.

Next, instructions to tie the half Windsor, which is a thicker more symmetrical knot and requires a longer tie.
1. Begin fully buttoning your collar and folding it upwards. Wrap the tie around your neck with the fattest end (A) hanging approximately 30cm below the thinner (B).
2. Wrap A over B then bring it towards you down through the tie loop.
3. You should have a little triangle with the back of the wider end behind the thin end. From left to right, wrap A around the triangle then bring it up through the loop.
4. Feed A down through the ties knot.
5. Finally, hold B with one hand as you use the other t slide the tie up to your neck.
6. Fold the collar back down over the tie ensuring no part of the noose is visible.
If you have followed instructions you will now have a half windsor knot.

The full Windsor is a complicated tidy fat knot that requires a very long tie but is a clasy knot by which it helps to know the instructions for.
1. Begin fully buttoning your collar and folding it upwards. Wrap the tie around your neck with the fattest end (A) hanging approximately 30cm below the thinner (B).
2. Pass A over B and through the loop.
3. Pull A over the right of the neck loop.
4. Wrap A around the back of the ties knot and bring it towards you down over the left side of the loop.
5. Wrap A around the front of the knot and bring it up through the centre of the loop.
6. Tuck A into the front of the knot and then pull it through.
7. Hold B with one hand as you slide the knot up to your neck with the other.
Congratulations, if you have followed instructions you now have a Full Windsor knot.

By practicing these instructions you will know how to tie three different ties which suit many specific occasions. Depending on your personality you may wish to use a basic knot for every day wear, and reserve your newly acquired Full Windsor instructions for when you actually meet the Windsors.
