How To Write A Business Plan

This is a one page summary, that you will write of the overall business plans. You will write details regarding the facts of the plan and place this after the table of contents page. Although you write this page first, in the plan it is always done last.
Vision statement
When you write your vision statement, it should be a short statement that shows what the business is aiming for and how it's going to get there. It is advisable to have an end goal, say 3-5 years, so that when that is reached a new vision statement can be compiled.
Background to the business opportunity
When you write this section, it should include a brief background of management and should include the curriculum vitae of all management. You should also write the list of skills that are needed to succeed in the chosen area and the personal attributes. You should also write a business profile and overview, unique features of the business, the industry outlook and the regional outlook for the chosen area. All of these things, you most definitely need to write about in your business plan.
Swot
You must write about a swot analysis. It is important. It will give you the chance to see the strengths of the business, the weaknesses, the opportunities and the threats to the business. This is important and it is critical that you be as honest as possible when doing this analysis, as it will let you see what obstacles have to be overcome in order for your plan and the business to succeed.
Pest
A pest analysis lets you see all the outside factors that could influence the success of your business plan and the business. The political, economic, social and technological factors should all be analyzed as these factors will affect the way the business operates and the ability to adapt to these changes is a major contributor to a businesses success.
Marketing
This section has to show how you are going to market the business. The way you are going to market the business, the type of people and or businesses you are going to market you business to and any steps involved. You will need an introduction and a summary of competitors; you need to know the size of the market and the target market. You need to show at what point in the market your business is likely to be positioned at when it enters.
Operations
This section includes the contact details for the person that will be running the business and the plant and equipment that you may need. You should also include your business name in this section as well as any professional organizations you may be using outside the business. You need to show a risk management plan and key management issues for growth. The working cash flow should be put in this section also, that is the cash flow that is needed to run the business until the business starts a regular turnover. Task management, delegation and quality control should be entered in here too which basically shows who is doing what task or who is responsible for what part of the business.
Operating structure
This lists who is in management, what their experience and skills are what role they have in the business and in what way they are going to be paid.
Finance
You need to write about a capital budget within your business plan, which shows what assets are needed and who is going to fund them, you need an operating budget within your plan, which shows how much money you need to operate the business and you need a cash flow forecast within your business plan which shows what money you are likely to need to run the business.
The last page should be an action plan. What needs to be done in the crucial areas such as marketing, operational, financial and any further training be required?

Read over what you write and then make a draft of what you think you will finally write in your final business plan. It is suggested you get another to look it over before you write up the final business plan for presentation.
