How To Treat A Stiff Neck

Having or waking up with a stiff neck is never enjoyable and can be extremely painful. There are a few things to learn regarding how to treat a stiff neck, so I will go into detail regarding these.
Sometimes a stiff neck is caused by the way we have in fact slept the night before. Maybe we had too many pillows or not enough pillows. When you try to treat a stiff neck, you also want to try to prevent your stiff neck from getting any worse, or once treated from happening again.
Either remove one of your pillows or add another, depending on the situation at hand. This could in fact help you treat a stiff neck.
Back to knowing how to treat a stiff neck. If your neck is really very stiff and you cannot turn one way or the other, you need to get something on to it straight away. It will quite likely be a possibility that you have suffered inflammation within your neck area. You may have something appropriate at home that you can use to treat your stiff neck, or you may not. If you haven't got anything at home to treat yuor stiff neck with, you will have to pay a visit to your local pharmacy. There are varying creams you can purchase that are readily available from such a store. In some cases, some of these can also be bought from your local supermarket, however I would advise you go straight to your local pharmacy. You can opt for a medicated anti inflammatory cream, or you can even opt for a natural anti inflammatory balm. Your pharmacy should stock both, so it is really which you would prefer to use when you need to treat a stiff neck. If you have any problems in locating any of these suggested products, then by all means ask the pharmacist for assistance. He/she will be only too happy to help you.
Once you have purchased some anti inflammatory cream for your stiff neck, it is often easier if you have another baled body on hand to apply this to your stiff neck for you. Have this person gently massage the anti inflammatory cream or balm into the affect area of your stiff neck.
You will also want to limit your movement as much as possible while you learn how to treat a stiff neck. Extra or sudden movement which involves the neck area will add to the possible inflammation.
If you are finding that the methods you have undertaken in order to treat a stiff neck, are not in fact working, or giving you any relief from a stiff neck, then I suggest you pay a visit to your local doctor. The doctor will examine you and your stiff neck. More likely than not, the doctor will then write for you a prescription for some anti inflammatory medicated tablets to be taken until your stiff neck goes away, and has been successfully treated.

You should be able to remedy a stiff neck next time you happen to suffer from one, or be able to assist another who may suffer from having a stiff neck, and in turn teach them how to treat a stiff neck.
