How To Tie A Noose

I am going to go briefly in to how to tie a noose. So if you need for some reason to know how to tie a noose, then this document is for you to read.

However before I continue, I would like to make it explicitly clear that the noose is most definitely not a knot to be played with. It can and does cause death.

On learning how to tie a noose, you will learn that there are three possible ways you can in fact tie a noose. Naturally, one way will of course be easier than another and so on.

You will learn how to tie a noose using one piece of rope. Run the ‘tail' of a piece of rope through the loop at the other end of the rope. This may be a knotted loop or even a spliced loop. The choice is yours really. You have now learned how to tie a very simple noose.

On looking into how to tie a noose, you will also discover two other ways of knowing how to tie a noose. So I will get into details on how to tie a noose using those methods also.

Firstly you will have to know how to tie a running knot, otherwise known as a simple or hitch knot. You will need to tie this running knot around the standing part of the rope, this should in fact pull on the knot side and close the loop. When you read up on how to tie a noose, you will also learn that this method is the most common used method when a noose is being tied. It makes the loop to close the noose very easy to use.

And now to learning how to tie a noose using the third method of approach. You will need to know how to tie a running knot, so that the pulling knot is opening the loop. This type of noose knot is often used for when one is packing bags etc and wanting to keep them tied down.

Even though I have gone into detail about how to tie a noose using three possible methods, there are in fact five varying types of noose. They are called:

The Simple Noose
The Strangle Snare
The Scaffold or Gallows Knot
The Hangmans Knot
The Reverse Eight Noose

Obviously all of these varying types of noose have a different use and purpose. It is rather apparent what the Hangmans Knot used to be use for, and unfortunately these days, still on the occasion is.

When you learn about how to tie a noose, you will also discover what each of these nooses is in fact used for. The Snare Knot is used primarily for snaring animals.

The Reverse Eight Knot is often used for wrapping and holding packages together. You will also discover how this noose knot is used for yo-yos.

Well, I have gone into some brief detail on how to tie a noose and how many varying ways you can learn how to tie a noose. I have also touched on the varying types of noose and what they can be used for. It is suggested that you know exactly why you need to learn how to tie a noose, and that you are not playing with such a knot. As I mentioned above, a noose can in fact be a very dangerous rope, especially if thoughtlessly placed around a persons neck. You would not want to accidentally put another in the hospital, or worse yet, kill them!
