How To Put Photo On Cd

By Jenna Litchfield
To put your personal photos on CD is really easy; all you need is some blank CD's and of course access to a Computer with a CD burner.
Blank CD's are available from all good department stores and or computer retail stores.

Before you put your photos on CD, be sure to resize your photos if you have a photo-editing program, such as Adobe Photoshop as most CDs can only fit 700 mega bytes of data on them.
The bigger the photo the bigger the file so a reasonable size is 640 x 480 this helps to put as many photos as possible on your CD.

It does not matter however if you do not have any photo editing programs, you can just use more CD's to put your photo's on.

I'll be showing you how to put a photo on to a CD using Microsoft Windows XP.

-Obviously you will need to put the blank CD into the disc drive, with XP a box pops up and asks you what you would like to do with the blank CD in the drive.

-Choose the option “Open writable CD folder” and click ok.
This now opens the writable CD folder, which appears empty (This is where you will be putting your photos).

-Now this is the easy part, you can now drag and drop your photos into the writable CD folder.
By opening the location of your photos, in another window, so you have the writable CD folder open and the folder with your photos in it.

-Click and drag a photo into the writable CD folder from its location and so forth until you have put all the photos you want to put on CD in the folder.
You can even drag and drop entire folders to the writable CD folder as well.

-Now check to see if you have enough space to put more photos on the CD
Click EDIT then select all, this selects all the photos and or files in the Writable CD folder.
Then right click on the highlighted files in the window then click on properties.
This now displays the space used on the disk and how much is left to put photos on.

Or if you have the task pane on the left of the window you can click on the drop down menu titled DETAILS, which displays how much free space you have used, and how much you have left.

Be sure to take note of how much room can be used on the CD, if you run out of room you can always use another CD.

-Now if you have the task pane on the left of the folder window click on write these files to CD if not click on FILE then Write these files to CD.

And your photos should now be put onto the CD and it will tell you when it has completed.

Be sure to put a name and date on the CD with a permanent marker for future reference.
And be sure not to touch the underside of the CD as this is where all the data is burnt on to the CD, any smudges or cracks can damage the CD's ability to read the information on the disk.
