How To Put On A Wedding
By Leeanne Utiger Knowing how to put on a wedding can be lots of fun and one of the most important and heartfelt things you ever do.
Thinking about putting on a wedding, can be daunting and sometimes stressful. It really all depends n how you look at it as a whole. Putting on a wedding should be fun, for a wedding is a display of affection and love for another. A wedding is meant to be a happy and joyous occasion, so learn how to put on a wedding in the same manner. Enjoy how you put on a wedding and smile.
If you make a list of what you need to know about putting on a wedding and what you want to do to put on a successful wedding, you really cant go wrong.
In this list, you should have things noted down such as:
Bridal party dress wear, date of wedding, table seating plans, invitations, menu, reception venue, music list, table decorations, hairdresser, wedding venue, rings, vowels, celebrant, flowers, guest list, times, transport to and from wedding venue to reception venue, honeymoon.
The reason we honeymoon is listed, is because often the bride and groom will in fact leave the wedding reception and head off to their honeymoon. You need to make sure you have everything surrounding this organised as well. Make sure you have all travel arrangements sorted to where ever it is you are heading to, and all luggage if required sorted and on hand for when you leave the reception.
The very first thing you need to sort out when learning how to put on a wedding, is in fact the date you want the wedding to take place. Once you have this sorted, make sure you next locate a venue. Whether this be in a church, on a beach front or in a garden somewhere. Any one of these venues may have to be booked in advance. Now that you have this sorted, you will next to have to organise and more than likely book a celebrant or a justice of the peace. On organising the two above mentioned things, also consider what time of the day or night you want the wedding to take place. These three things will all have to coincide with one another.
Now you can concentrate on the other things you will need to know how to organise when putting on a wedding. Concentrate on the little things first, the things that will not take a great deal of time to organise. For instance, you can sort out and pre book a hairdresser or hairdressers within the same salon for the day of the wedding. While you are doing this, make sure you schedule an appointment or two with the hairdresser you have booked both for the bride and the bridesmaids, so you can all decide how you want to wear your hair on the day of the wedding. You may need to get together hair accessories. It is best to know what you will need for this ahead of time.
Now you can concentrate on where you want to have the wedding reception. Many places all over the place are used to catering for weddings, so work in with them. They will be only too obliging. You can come up with a menu on having discussions with them. You should however before planning a menu have the number of guests that will be attending the reception on hand. This will help the caterers.
While you are organising all of these things, you can also be working on your guest list and the invitations, and who is going to be invited to what. Not all guests need to be invited to the actual wedding or wedding reception, yet can be invited to the after function, which is normally held after the meal.
Once you have decided who you would like to come to what part of the wedding, you can organise the invitations accordingly. You could opt to have special invitations printed at a printing store. They are professionals in this type of thing and will know how to get what you want done perfectly. However they can be quite costly. You may therefore choose to make your own invitations. Once your invitations are sorted, you can then post them out to all of the people you have asked to become guests.
You also need to consider what sort of wedding dress you want to wear on your special day. You may want to buy a dress, or you may choose to hire a dress, or even have a wedding dress made especially for you. Knowing how to find a wedding dress can seem stressful, yet in reality it is a lot fun. Once you have made up your mind as to whether you will buy, hire or make, you can begin to make your choice easily. Get some input form your friends and family. You also need to know how to sort the rest of the bridal party. Gather the men together and let them make the choice as to what form of suit they wish to wear. Once again, there are many bridal stores available where they can also hire their outfits for the day. Likewise with your bridesmaids. Hiring really can save you a lot of money. Or a lot of people theses days, simply decide on a color and the bridesmaids all purchase their own outfit within the color range decided upon.
Now to the wedding rings. Both you and your partner should shop for these together as they are a very sentimental part of the wedding. Likewise with the wedding vowels. These should be decided upon together, or you could both choose to write your own.
There is quite a lot to know about how to put on a wedding, and yet it will always fall into place. Let people help you, yet not let them take over the wedding plans. Remember it is YOUR wedding, not theirs.
I have gone into a few details regarding some of how you can successfully put on a wedding.
There are of course other ways to put on a wedding without having to worry about any of it yourself directly. You can more often than not these days, choose to take on the services of a wedding planner. This is a person who will take full responsibility of making sure all of your wedding plans are taken care of, with your input and help of course.
However you choose to learn how to put on a wedding, may you have fun, enjoy it and most importantly, do not stress, this is meant to be the happiest day of your life!
