So you have taken an interest in the game of croquet, and now want to learn and know how to in fact be able to play the game croquet. If you read this article further, you will find out briefly what you need to know about how to play croquet.

Croquet is in fact a garden lawn game, and requires a flat lawn to be able to successfully learn and know how to play croquet. The smoother the lawn area you choose to play croquet on, the easier and the better the game of croquet that you play will be.

When you begin to learn how to play croquet, you will learn that croquet is in fact a tactical game and requires the use of well thought out strokes during the game of croquet you are learning how to play.

You will quickly learn that the tactical strokes you make with the croquet ball is not only used for your own balls, but also of the balls of your opponent in a game of croquet. In making all of these tactical strokes in a game of croquet, you are ultimately trying to score points for your side. While you are using tactical strokes to score points for yourself or your side, you also at the same time have to try and use tactical strokes that will in fact restrict the points the other team can be able to make once it is their turn to put their tactical strokes into action, in the game of croquet you are finding out how to play successfully.

On finding out more about how to play croquet, you will learn that you have to take a stroke with a stick like thing with what could be described as a club like end. When you take your stroke with this piece of equipment, you are aiming the ball you are going to make contact with through a hoop like structure poked into the lawn you are playing the game of croquet on. When learning how to play croquet you will discover that you have to hit the balls you are playing your game of croquet with through these hoop like structures that are embedded into the lawn. You will also learn when you read up on how to play croquet that each ball has to run an entire set course during a game of croquet. You will learn that each ball does in fact have to go through each of the hoop like structures twice, and in a specific order. Once you have done this with the balls in the game of croquet, you then have to hit a peg. Of course you will learn how the winner is determined when you are learning how to play croquet. The winner is the team or the single player that manages to get his or her balls successfully through all six of these hoop like structures twice and then successfully hitting the peg first, before any member of the opposition team. This is how the winner is determined.

You will learn on finding out how to play croquet that you normally have one stroke per turn, yet there are a couple of ways that your strokes per turn can in fact be increased. If your ball goes through your hoop, you then are granted another stroke. If the players ball who is taking their stroke hits a ball of the opposition the player then places his or her ball right next to where the ball their ball hit rests. They then take another stroke, making sure they hit the opponents ball also in taking that stroke. Once this stroke has been taken, the player is then entitled to one more additional stroke.

There are a few other rules that can be followed if you are maybe playing competition croquet or want to learn how to play croquet seriously for a club etc. However what I have briefly outlined enough, is most definitely enough to teach you and your family just how to play croquet for fun.
