You will be able to make your own fragrant shampoos, and also be able to make herbal shampoo's to suit your own hair needs whether your hair is thick, thin or delicate in need of nourishment or just plain oily.

A good way to start off making your own shampoo is to buy a shampoo base, which is basically pure liquid soap!
This is the easiest way to make your own shampoo as you can add ingredients to it that you prefer; and it is available at most health stores.
If you cant find any at your local health store look on online websites to see what they have on offer however make sure the shampoo base you choose is PH balanced with a substantial glycerin content, as you want to make a shampoo that is going to be great to use on all types of hair and not acidic.

Or you can choose to make your own shampoo base; by mixing 1/4-cup water, 1/4-cup castile soap and 1/2 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil together, this makes about half a cup of shampoo.
Just multiply the ingredients together to get more shampoo if needed.

Vitamins, Nourishing Extras and herbal additives can be added to your shampoo as well for extra nourishing healthy hair properties.
How do I do that?
Simple! Vitamins can be added simply by adding the contents of about four vitamin capsules to a cup of shampoo, however vegetable oils are great as well, also other oils from Jojoba plants and other herbs and flowers, most of these will provide strengthening nourishing properties to your hair.
How about herbal additives such as Rosemary? They stimulate hair growth; Chamomile enhances shine while Tea Tree oil is used to combat dandruff as well as other herbal additives with different properties that can enhance your hairs health.
So research some herbal plants that can give your hair the benefits its need, and add them to your shampoo.

Four tablespoons of glycerin per cup of shampoo base will also make your hair incredible shiny and protect it from the drying effects of styling and the damage the sun can do, as it is a natural moisturizer.
Even if you feel like changing the color of your shampoo, add a few drops of colorant but remember not to add to much as you do not want to make your hair a bright color! Or for that matter make your skin a new tinge!

You can also put any fragrance you like into your shampoo creation, how? Just buy using flower essences or aromatherapy oils and mixing it with the shampoo then TADAA you have a beautifully fragrant shampoo.
And it will be specifically designed to your liking and your hair needs! Experiment with what you need and what you like!
You will end up being able to make an assortment of shampoos for all sorts of hair types.
