Add your yeast to the jar and mix in smoothly. Half fill the airlock with water and insert it into the bung to seal the jar. This determines whether your want a dry wine: .990-.996, medium wine: .996-1.009, or a sweet wine: 1.009-1.018. When you sugar levels are right for the type of wine you want, end the fermentation process.

Remove the bung and airlock from the jar. Add your two campden tablets (crushed) with your potassium sorbate to end the fermentation process or your wine. Put the bung and airlock back onto the jar. Store your jar of wine in a cool place this time: 15 degrees Celsius or 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Wait until the liquid is clear, then remove the sediment.
How to make homemade wine: bottling
Some people like to filter their wine before bottling. This adds a more professional looking touch, making the wine that much clearer. Use a corking tool to cork your sterilized wine bottles. It's a really fun idea to create your own label as well. Date it, with the name of your ‘wine-making company' and indicate what sort of wine it is. It's a great idea to write down the exact process you go through. This means that when you do it again you can refine things and see if they improve the quality of your homemade wine!
