How To Make Computer Run Faster

Learning and knowing how to make your computer run faster is a great way to save on upgrade costs. It is always good to be able to make the best out of your computer, and making it run faster than it normally would has many benefits.
Ways on keeping and making a computer remain fast like it is when you have just rebooted, or reinstalled may include simple things like your choice of software installed on it, doing regular disk drive clean ups, keeping it free of viruses and spyware. We will look into some of these methods of how to make a computer run faster later.

Firstly, one of the great software utility tools out there that is great at making computers run faster is the use of a memory manager. What I mean by this is a RAM memory manager such as Release RAM.
This great little utility has been proven many times over to make computers run faster than they normally would without it, especially if you are always running out of RAM when running huge games or memory hungry applications. What Release RAM does is it makes your computer make more efficient use of its RAM memory. Windows is very poor at giving memory back to the computer so it slows down when you run low, and then begins using the hard drive's swapfile as an alternative source of memory. As we all know, the hard drive is much slower than RAM memory so this is why your computer gets slow after a while using it. Release RAM on the other hand monitors your level of RAM, and when it detects that you are running low, it forces Windows to do a quick cleanup (usually takes up to 5 seconds) and move memory that you are not currently needing into the swapfile so freeing up some RAM. This works well at keeping your computer running fast.

Other methods how to make computers run faster include choosing the right Antivirus software. We have tried Nortons and it seems to make the computer run a lot slower. I recently uninstalled my 90 day trial of Nortons Security and Antivirus, and instead I now use AVG Anti-virus. It is great and is not heavy on system resources.

Another thing to consider, especially if you have an older computer and don't want to buy a new one is what software you run on it. Usually the newer versions of software applications are much bigger and need faster computers to run effectively. On a slower, older computer a newer version of MS Office will run a lot slower than an earlier version. So unless the new versions have features you need, consider delaying upgrading to newer software if you can. This will help make your computer run faster.

Spyware is another biggie. Be wary of downloading and using free software. Many of the free applications these days have spyware / ad supporting software bundled with them. They can bombard your computer with advertising material (the authors of the free software want to earn a living somehow) which dramatically slows computers. Consider using spyware killer programs. These are similar to anti-virus software but focuses on cleaning up spyware instead.

Here are a list of good spyware killing software which are good at making your computer run faster by removing nasty sypware / ad supporting software from your computer:

Microsoft AntiSpyware
Ad-Aware
Spybot Search and Destroy.
