How To Grow Orchids

When you learn to discover all there is to know about how to grow orchids and care for them, you will find out that an orchid does in fact need tender loving care given to it, to make it thrive.
As I have mentioned above, orchids need tender loving care. This is because orchids can be a very difficult plant/flower to grow. Because of this, many orchids are grown in greenhouses. If you think you would prefer to grow an orchid in a greenhouse, you will also need to learn how to either build a greenhouse (if you do not have one) and also how to grow healthy and thriving plants this way.
I will go into a little detail on how to grow orchids for you, and then hopefully once you have gained enough knowledge, you can then begin to gorw your own orchids.
However, in the right conditions, some orchids are known to grow better than other orchids in the home. You will learn how to keep an orchid growing better if you also learn at what temperature to have your orchid growing in. Many believe that an orchid constantly requires the warmer temperatures, where in fact they do not. Orchids do actually like to be surrounded by a cooler temperature in the evening and over night.
When you learn how to grow orchids, you will discover that orchids get their nutrients from the air, any decaying vegetation and also the rain. If you provide a native like condition when you learn how to grow an orchid, the orchid in question will in fact grow better.
You will how humid it needs to be for an orchid to grow. You will also learn how to plant an orchid. You will need a pot with a tray below it, containing pebbles and water. You will also learn how to care for the foliage of your orchid. It is helpful to mist or spray the leaves of the orchid, yet early enough in the day for the foliage to be dry by nightfall.
You will have to learn how and when to water your orchids. When the soil appears to be dry, your orchid is in need of water, or in the very least once a week. During the growing season you should also feed your orchid ‘orchid fertilizer'.
You will learn how much sunlight an orchid will need to thrive and grow extremely healthy. You will need a minimum of at least 4 hours of sunlight for your orchid each day.
You will also learn how to look after your orchid with the usage of correct potting mix. You should be able to purchase a ready made specific orchid potting mix. This potting mix is readily available t your local garden center. Or you can learn how to make your own orchid potting mix, using the following ingredients: osmunda fiber, ground tree fern stem, or ground bark.
