How To Grow Grass

By Jason Taingahue
Imagine that you have an old back yard or no greenery in the back yard at all. You probably would want to change it and make it look nice. Well this is where you need to learn how to grow grass.

And the first step towards learning how to grow grass is to take a look at the area that we will be using to grow the grass.

Does the area already have grass there, but that grass is old? Is there nothing there at all and the area needs something there? Or is the area that you want to turn into grass just concrete and doesn't look attractive at all. YOu really do need to learn how to grow some grass.

Well no matter what the area is the thing that we need to do before learning how to grow the grass in a particular place is to clear the area. So knock the concrete out or move the rubbish away from that spot so that there is nothing there at all, but leave the soil if there is any there at all. In some cases soil needs to be bought in, and especially in cases where the ground does have soil, but it is really hard soil. The other option is to water the hard soil so that it will soften up a bit, but still bring in additional good soil.

To find out what sort of soil you need when learning how to grow grass, take a sample of dirt down to the local hardware or plant store and tell them that you want to grow some grass in the area and this is what the area is like (showing them the sample). The assistant at the store will then give you the appropriate soil and instructions to get you on your way.

The next step when learning how to grow grass is to dig the area over and make sure that it is dug over nice and evenly. You may need to use a rotary how for this as well if the surface is to hard for a shovel. Once you have dug the area over that you are gonna learn how to grow grass on, water that area, especially if it is hard. We want to loosen the dirt before the better growing soil goes in. It may actually take the surface a few weeks to come right as well. Watering the surface twice a day. Once in the morning and once at night if it is hard.

When the soil has become a bit softer, we can then add the next lot of soil that we got from the hardware store. And dig this into the soil that we have soften up as well so that there is an even spread. Now we can rake the ground out so that it is nice and even and smooth.

When learning how to grow grass we now have a surface to work with and the next and final step is to throw the grass seeds evenly over the ground we have just prepared. Grass seeds can be bought from any good hardware or garden store. Once the grass seeds are spread over the surface, we just wait. Make sure to water the area at least once a day.

Now we just wait and watch for the grass to grow. Well don't watch because it can be boring, just check it once a day and remove any weeds that come up.

The best time grow, when learning how to grow grass is in the summer time. That way you can water the grass every day, where if you are trying to grow grass in the winter, you cant bring out the sun at your own convenience.
