How To Get Rid Of Cockroaches

So how do we get rid of cockroaches?
There are many different breeds of cockroaches about three and a half thousand of them to be exact.
For example, German, American, brown banded, Smokey brown and oriental cockroaches.
So lets get to know a little bit about how these cockroaches work.
Cockroaches love warm, humid and wet dark places and can eat a variety of foods such as plants and animal matter, clothing, food, wood and paper and other small insects.
Cockroaches can also spread bacteria and disease not to mention a lot of allergies so if you have an infestation of cockroaches now is a good time to get rid of them. Cockroaches really hate light, so you will probably not see them in plain view; they are usually hiding behind things in the dark, places such as behind bench tops and appliances and in your laundry area.
How to get rid of cockroaches?
The biggest no no to this date is squishing cockroaches to get rid of them, if they have eggs in them it spreads them and we definitely do not want more of the little cockroaches running around.
Most people tend to call a exterminator to help them get rid of cockroaches, this is a good idea as they can fumigate the house and get rid all of the cockroaches, not to mention get rid of the spiders and other insects that might be in your house
Your exterminator will tell you the procedures of how to leave your home while he gets rid of the cockroaches, usually by covering up any open food and putting it all in containers.
Lock pets out of the house swell and make sure anything that is consumed by humans or pets is put away or stored away so it can't be touched by fumigation.
You certainly do not want your fruit bowl out amongst the fumes do you.
However there a plenty of natural not pesticide ways to get rid of cockroaches for example by sprinkling boric acid where you have seen cockroaches, this will get into there digestive system and eventually get rid of them, however be careful if you have kids or pets around that they do not ingest any of the boric acid, Place it in a non accessible place.
Baking soda and sugar is also a good way to get rid of cockroaches, and also safe if the kids or pets find it, just place together on a small plate and watch them disappear.
Make sure that you do not leave a water source for the cockroaches to have access to, make sure your plumbing is safe and not leaking and that there are no damp areas, as cockroaches need water daily to survive.
If necessary use a dehumidifier to get rid of the dampness in your home, not only will this help to get rid of the cockroaches however it will also be a better environment for your family as the atmosphere will be drier.
A good way to get rid of the pests is to spray crevices and areas prone to cockroach infestation with pesticides and you can always use dusting powder as well.
Fill up cracks and crevices as well the spaces around pipe holes as they are perfect entry points for cockroaches to enter your home.
Basically keep your house nice and clean without clutter and free of dampness and hopefully your house will be cockroach free!
