How To Cook Corn On The Cob

There are a few ways you can in fact cook corn on the cob, so why not try a couple, or even all of them, until you work out for yourself what method of cooking you prefer, when you cook corn on the cob.
To begin with, you can boil your corn on the cob. A fairly traditional method one might say. You will need a reasonable size pot, especially if cooking enough corn on the cob for you and family members. Place your corn on the cob pieces into the post and cover with cold water. There is no need to use hot water, as the water will heat up naturally during cooking. Make sure there is enough water in the pot to not boil dry. You do not want burnt corn on the cob now do you? Once you have placed your pieces of corn on the cob into the pot and covered with enough water, you can now place the pot lid over the corn on the cob and water. You may want to add a small sprinkle of salt to this first. Place your prepared pot onto an element on your stove top. Turn the element on to the highest temperature in the interim, as you want the water in the pot to begin to boil. Once your water and corn on the cob pieces are in fact boiling, you can then turn the temperature of the element down to about midway. Leave this cooking for approximately ten to fifteen minutes. It really depends on how crunchy you want your corn on the cob to be. Once it is cooked, remove the pot off the element, making sure you do turn the element off. Drain the water out of the pot, away from the corn on the cob and place the corn on the cob onto your dinner plates.
The next method you can opt for in learning how to cook corn on the cob, is to bar-b-que it. You may never have thought this was possible with corn on the cob, but it is actually quite delicious. I have included for your reference and know how a recipe below:
You will need: 4 corn cobs with husks on and freshly ground pepper.
You have to trim the silk from the corn on the cob, making sure you leave the husks on. If you wish. You can cook the corn on the cob pieces in the microwave on high power for three minutes first. This will just soften the corn on the cob up a bit before you bar-b-que it. Place the corn on the cob pieces on to the bar-b-que and cook for a further five to ten minutes, or until the corn on the cob is tender. To serve, remove the husks from the corn on the cob pieces and serve with freshly ground pepper. Simply beautiful!
In addition to those to methods in knowing how to cook corn on the cob, you can simply cook it completely in the microwave for approximately five to ten minutes, making sure you turn it often. Place the corn on the cob pieces into a low dish, with a little water. Place a couple of dollops of butter on the corn on the cob pieces and sprinkle with a little salt and some ground black pepper.
