For one reason or another you may want or need to learn how to clean a mattress. So if you are wanting to know how to clean a mattress, then I suggest that you keep reading this article further.

Mattresses are not that easy to clean to be honest and it all depends on just what has messed up your mattress in the first place, as to how you can go about cleaning the mattress. Sometimes it is suggested for your own matter of health to in fact simply dump the mattress. In the worse case scenario of someone leaving runny faeces all over the mattress, it really is not something anybody would want to be cleaning up in the first place. So unless you are really desperate in keeping that mattress, I suggest you remove a mattress containing this sort of damage immediately. Actually, in saying that, I suggest you made an immediate request to the person who left their faeces behind to remove the mattress. That is by far the best and most effective way to clean a mattress after such a happening has taken place.

Now we will teach you how to get light urine stains and odours out of a mattress. If you have a child that still wets the bed form time to time, or a young child who you are training to sleep in a bed without nappies anymore, then this information is for you. As you learn how to clean a mattress, you will also learn how to prevent the mattress from needing to be cleaned in the first place. If you have children in the scenario I mentioned above, simply purchase a piece of suitable plastic sheeting to lay between the mattress and the bed linen. This will in fact keep the mattress clean or n the very least almost completely clean. However accidents can happen and sometimes the plastic sheeting is not adequate enough to handle the accident of urine leakage.

You will now learn how to clean a mattress in this situation. Simply remove all of the bed linen from the bed and the mattress itself. Place all of the linen into the washing machine, as the sooner you wash urine out of linen or clothing the better off the clothing and linen will be. Washing as soon as possible, eliminates all of the odours left behind from the urine.

Once you have removed the linen off the bed and the mattress, you can now use an old cloth to soak up any excess urine that may still be quite wet on the mattress concerned. Simply press the cloth on to the mattress in the wet spot and let it absorb any dampness or excess urine.

Now you can learn how to further clean and air the mattress. Once you have soaked up all of the excess urine it is suggested to spray the mattress with an odour eating spray. Try a product called: Febreeze. This product is very good at eliminating such odours from mattresses. Further to learning how to clean the mattress, I mentioned you will also learn how to air the mattress - so, once you have sprayed some odour eating spray on to the damaged mattress, it is now suggested that you remove the mattress outside in to the fresh air. Fresh air is very good once again for helping remove stains and smells from a mattress. It is a combination of the air and the sunlight that come together and work as one to help you mend and cleanse your mattress.

I have given you a few ideas on how to clean a mattress. I hope the things I have spoken about will in fact be of some help to you when you need to learn how to clean a mattress.
