By Jason Taingahue This article is about how to choose a breed of dog. If you are considering purchasing a dog, you need to take into thought, which dog breed would best suit your home condition.
Are you thinking about getting a new dog? Do you know which breed of dog you want to have as a pet? If the answer is no, then read on and I will tell you how choose a dog breed.
Knowing how to choose a breed of dog can be a difficult thing, so i have gone into detail regarding a few varying breeds of dog for you. This may in fact make it easier for you to choose which breed of dog you would prefer to own.
First of all when learning how to choose a dog breed, we must take a look at what sort of dog we want in the house or outside the house. Only then can we choose what breed of dog to get.
Do we want a friendly dog that can sleep in the house? Do we want a guard dog? Or sometimes when we want to choose a dog, do we want that dog for hunting purposes? And in some cases, do we want a dog that purposes all of the above?
When learning how to choose a dog breed for just the average pet in the house that you can go to the park with and throw the ball around, we would be looking at a dog called a golden retriever or the other name for it is a golden Labrador. These kinds of dogs when raised properly are ideal pets for the household. They are called golden retrievers because of there gold colored fur and they like to retrieve objects when you throw them at a distance.
The next breed of dog that we want to learn to choose is the hunting dog. Now hunting dogs can come in all shapes and sizes, but if you want an aggressive hunting dog that is going to be used for pig hunting then I would recommend a bull mastiff. These dogs are strong in stature and have lock jaws to catch the pig or to round the pig up so that is ready to be shot. There are different types of mastiffs and they can be crossed with all types of dogs as well.
If you want to learn how to choose a breed of dog for guarding the property purposes, then any dog will do, but if you want a dog that I can recommend then here are a few dogs that are very good guard dogs. Dobermans, jack russles and bull dogs. These dogs will protect your house very well and will bark anytime someone is on the property if they are bought up the right way.
The main thing in learning how to choose a breed of dog is the training of the dog. A lot of dogs specialize in an area of expertise, but any dog can be trained to do any amount of things.
Before you actually go out and choose a dog breed though, write down the reasons why you actually want the dog in the first place and then when you go to the pet store, to buy one, tell them what you want the dog for as well. You especially want to do this if the dog is a little bit grown up and they have already been trained in a particular area of expertise.
I mean there would be nothing worse then going out and getting a dog for something that you need it for and then finding out that the dog was actually trained in something else.
Another thing you must take into consideration when you want to choose a breed of dog, is whether you have children or not. Sometimes it is not a wise move to choose a breed of dog that is known for having a bad or snappy nature. owever most dog breeds can be trained to be tolerable around children.
Well I hope that helps you in your quest to choosing a breed of dog.
