How To Build A Bird House
By Jason Taingahue Do you like it when the birds gather around? How would you like to build a bird house for your friends? Just keep on reading and I will explain to you how you can build a fantastic bird house. Its very easy to build this bird house as well and you could probably build it within a couple of days.
The first thing that we need to do when leaning how to build a bird house is to find a suitable place to build one, I would be inclined to build a bird house somewhere in the garden. Anywhere in the garden is a suitable place for a bird house because the bird house is going to be raised on a wooden pole anyway.
Once you have established where you are going to be putting the bird house we now need to obtain a strong wooden pole that we can use for the bird house to sit on. Once you have found a pole that is strong enough, dig it into the ground and make sure that it is at a height that you are able to reach and place the bird house on top of as well.
The next step that we need to do when learning how to build a bird house is to get a base for the actual bird house itself. To get a suitable base when learning how to build a bird house we need a square that is comfortable enough to sit on top of the wooden pole that we have placed in the ground, so sit the base on the pole and see if the base is suitable enough for the bird house that you want to build.
Now that we have the base, the next part of learning how to build a bird house is to cut out some sides and a back and front for the bird house and use PVA glue to stick them together remembering that you have to have a little door in the front of the bird house too so the bird can go in and out. Another thing that you can do when using PVA glue the back and front and the sides of the bird house is to clamp each side into a vice for a couple of hours to give you that extra push in sticking the bird house together and then let it dry over night.
At this stage of learning how to build a bird house we need to put a roof on the bird house and we can either have an angle roof or an angled roof like what we see on houses. What ever one you choose, use the PVA glue the same way we did with the side to pout the roof on as well.
Once that is dry enough to work on again we can now put a little run way coming out from the door of the bird house and we can glue a little bowl onto the end of the runway. The reason that we are putting the bowl on the run way is so that the bird has some water and so that the bird can wash in there, because birds love to keep themselves clean.
Now the final stage of learning how to build a bird house is to stick the bird house on the pole with some super glue and some nails or tacks to keep it stable.
All that you have to do now when learning how to build a bird house is sit back and wait and the birds will come, that's for sure, unless the cat is around. So get to it and build.
